I mean, what if your life consisted of nothing but shootouts and fights on a daily basis?  For most people having to deal with an overbearing boss is enough to make you wanna figure-four leg-lock someone.  Imagine the kinda mental stress you must go through everyday if you wake up like, “well this could be my last day here on earth, but fuck it let it do what it do.“  I dunno if that’s a lifestyle I’m equipped to deal with.  Imagine being in and outta jail sometimes for days, other times months, or even years.   But, this is your whole lifestyle we’re talking about, not just a one time thing when you were 20 years old.

One thing I don’t think most people realize about most thugs is that they’re mostly broke.  Now, you may be saying to yourself “I thought they sold drugs?” That’s a common misconception about thugs.  Most drug dealers are not thugs, and most thugs are not drug dealers.  There’s a difference.  This is why they’re always trying to rob people–because they’re broke.  Most thugs go to jail for assault and robbery.

Back in the day if you were a thug, you maybe walked around with a leather jacket and a switchblade and maybe you roughed a few people up. But, you lived a fairly simple and care free life, because people mainly just gave you your run of the place and your space. So there wasn’t much need for a lot of lashing out on the community. And if you had to give some kid a knuckle sandwich along the way it wouldn’t kill anyone.

Hell, on the low, being a thug was lightweight the move back in the day. But now in 2010 it saddens me to announce that the form of thugging you and I knew as children is gone.  Thugs then had fun and partied and had chicks everywhere.  Thugs today have dudes everywhere and party. The level of fun doesn’t seem to be equal in my humble opinion.  But, like with everything I think life goes in cycles.  So, whenever the old way of thugging comes back I think I’m gonna try that out for a few years. I may be like 67 years old when it happens, but I still think its something worth looking into.

So, I was leaving the gym today and I was driving by this school. When driving by a school especially elementary its not unusual to see adults in a parking lot waiting to pick said kids up. As, I drove by the school that is mainly what I saw. But, then I saw this dude in a truck across the school. He looked like he was waiting on someone. I looked back and saw this same dude tip a miller lite can to the head. Keep in mind its 9am in the morning when this happened! So, I’m like ohhhhhhhh shit dude is whylin! Then I thought about it. If he’s drinking in a parking lot across from an elementary school, and he’s drinking in a parking lot across from an elementary school at 9am, and he’s drinking in a parking lot across from an elementary school at 9am in plain view, then maybe just maybe that wasn’t his first beer of the day. So, I thought damn that’s crazy. But, then I thought there is basically three scenarios that can and will possibly play out: One would be that he is picking some kid up from school. There are no pros to having an alcoholic dude drinking at 9am coming to pick you up from school. Two would be he is on some pervert shit and wanna pick a kid up on the humble and maybe by getting drinking he can kick game, or get enough courage to try and swoop down on some unsuspecting kid. Or maybe dude is just an alcoholic and he is doing what he does best regardless of the school there, and he could honestly give two fucks about any kid over there. But, my natural thought was oh well not my business. My question is shouldn’t I have felt more moved to call police or something? Because if he gets in a wreck with some kid drunk and or kidnaps someone and I see it on the news I’m gonna feel real fucked up. Back in the day remember when you would do something wrong, and you would get in trouble by like 6 adults before you even got home? People used to be proactive on shit like that. That’s how you kept the riff raff outta the neighborhood. At what point did we get so “Oh well,” about shit? So, I guess all I’m saying is if you hear something fucked up on the news like that, don’t tell me cause I don’t wanna feel bad about it.

Welcome to the new Weightless Recordings website.  We said it was coming soon, and now it’s here.   The old site had become too difficult to update and maintain, so we had to switch it up.  Please note the following:

• work in progress – this website is still a work in progress and there are several things that aren’t complete yet.  please feel free to let us know if you notice something that isn’t working right.
• User IDs – you will have to register again as no information from the old site was able to be saved or transferred; this includes forum posts and user IDs.
• Forum & Blog Commenting – you should be able to use the same ID to post on the forum and make comments on the blog.
  
• Forum Features – the forum isn’t quite as full-featured as the other one, but we think it’ll work for the time being (and yes, all the old forum posts are gone. we couldn’t transfer them)
• New Webstore – the webstore is now integrated into the website.  weightlessmerchandise.com will remain active for a few weeks since we’ve got this new greenhouse ep, but after it slows a bit we will eventually remove it and all ordering can be done here.  You can see your order total as you add items to the cart, and we think it will be a LOT easier to use.
• Webstore Deals – there are more deals in the store.  all apparel orders come with a free cd from that artist.  please take a look around.  We’re going to add a few more within the next week or so.
• Weightless Twitter – yes, we’re finally on twitter.  you can click on the link on the right to add us and follow the latest news updates there.
• Weightless Facebook Page – we’re also now on Facebook at http://facebook.com/weightlessrecordings. Add us!
