Blueprint Announces Release of New “Falling Down” EP
As a fixture in underground hip-hop for the last twenty years, MC/Producer Blueprint was known for his high output that featured a wide catalog of vocal and production albums. That high output came to and end in 2019 when the covid pandemic shut down the music industry, leaving Blueprint and many other artists unsure of how to proceed in a world where everything was shut down. All of the sudden, the albums, tours, and subsequent income that he depended on to sustain himself were gone. Instead of waiting, Blueprint ultimately decided to get a job and leave his music career altogether, never confirming whether he had any interest in returning.
Fast forward to 2024 and the questions have now been answered; Blueprint is returning to music. In fact, he will be releasing a brand new project called Falling Down on Tuesday April 23rd, 2024 on Weightless Recordings.
Never one to shy away from personal subjects, Falling Down is one of Blueprint’s most personal projects to date. From financial struggles, to relationship struggles, to finding inspiration–a lot of ground is covered on his upcoming 5-song EP. “In many aspects, I realized that I had fallen. The things I wanted to be doing and where I wanted to be, I wasn’t there. I was depressed and moving backwards,” Blueprint says about the inspiration for the project.
But despite that, he still wanted to make music that inspired others. “I wanted to make a record that’s about how it feels when you’re down and you’re trying find to that inspiration to get up,” he recalls. That music that ultimately became the Falling Down EP.
Falling Down by Blueprint will be released Tuesday April 23rd, 2024.
